Tougeki ’08 Super Battle Opera: The 6th Arcadia Cap Tournament announced

Enterbrain has announced that Tougeki’08 Final (also known as SBO’08) will be held in August.

The tournament will take place over over 3 days. This is the biggest arcade fighting game competition inJapan.

Last year, top players from EU countries, Australia, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and three areas from the U.S. (west, central and east) participated this tournament. The Tougeki’08 committee will invite more players from the other countries for this year.

Here are the 9 titles that were chosen by popularity and sponsor for the competition:
1. Guilty Gear XX CORE (3on3)
2. Tekken 6 (3on3)
3. The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate match (1on1)
4. Arcana Heart 2 (1on1)
5. Super Street Fighter II X (2on2)
6. Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver.B2 (2on2)
7. Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) (1on1)
8. Virtua Fighter 5 (3on3)
9. Street Fighter III 3rd Strike (3on3)

The schedule until the Tougeki’08 Final starts as follows:
2008 end of Jan.: Announcement of the regulation and rule of this tournament
2008 end of Feb.: Area qualification announcement
2008 from April: Area qualification begins
2008 summer: Final will be held at Differ Ariake
